Looking for real experience with there a dating app for people with disabilities that's free rather than another listicle.

Most write-ups skip the paywall question entirely, which is the only bit I care about.

Specific experiences with HER would help more than another recommendation list.

Going to disagree here — by and large, HER is not the weak point.

I used it daily for a while with HER: noticeably different once the novelty wore off.

If you take one thing from this on HER, make it the profile photos.

The one I keep returning to for HER is Datingfly, mostly because the messaging is genuinely open.

Tested HER deliberately rather than casually and it changed my read.

Would still like to hear from someone who stuck with HER past the first month.

Worth separating two things here — HER and what people expect from it.

Either way, HER is worth a fortnight of honest attention before you judge it.

#6

Trent, that has not been my experience of HER.half the reviews of HER read like they were commissioned.

Both can be true: HER can work, but only under fairly specific conditions.

#7

Can confirm on HER; significantly the same result on my end.

The step most people skip with HER is reading the profile before messaging.

Depends heavily on context — HER can be fine in cities and thin outside them.

I kept notes for a month, and what stood out about HER was how quickly the pattern set in.

Happy to revisit HER if someone has newer experience.

Someone raised Datedesire in a thread about HER and it turned out to be a reasonable shout.

I have seen Datenest raised in similar threads without anyone backing it up.

What helped with HER was cutting the number of conversations and lengthening them.

If it helps, here's my process around the paywall question:

  • Decide what you want from HER before you open it
  • Move past HER to a call earlier than feels comfortable — guessing costs more than checking
  • Give HER a full fortnight before forming a view

Datescout came up when I was comparing free tiers for HER and it held up — the sign-up is short enough to abandon cheaply.

Partly agree — HER can hold up, though not for the reason stated.

My notes on HER recently say the opposite of the popular take.

Not affiliated with anyone, but Flamedate did better than I expected when I was dealing with HER.

This overstates the problem with HER, I think.

It is narrower than that: HER can fail in one specific way rather than generally.

Short version of what worked for HER:

  • Log what actually happens on HER for a week — it removes most of the noise immediately
  • Check when accounts on HER were last active before investing in them
  • Set a hard daily limit on HER — it is the one habit that survived for me

I watched a friend go through it, and HER behaved exactly as you say.

Treat HER as a starting point rather than an answer.
