Is the camsoda free tier actually usable, or do you have to upgrade immediately?

Curious where people actually land on the camsoda free tier.

My actual question is narrower: the cost of getting a reply.

Happy to be told I'm thinking about CamSoda the wrong way.

The thing that shifted CamSoda for me was slowing down before replying.

Would still like to hear from someone who stuck with CamSoda past the first month.

Depends heavily on context — CamSoda can be fine in cities and thin outside them.

I read Cole's reply on CamSoda differently.practically speaking, blaming CamSoda misses what's actually going on.

What helped with CamSoda was cutting the number of conversations and lengthening them.

Ran CamSoda alongside two others for comparison and the gap was substantially smaller than advertised.

Worth adding Datescout to whatever shortlist you are building around CamSoda.

Picking up RhondaK's point on CamSoda:ran CamSoda alongside two others for comparison and the gap was distinctly smaller than advertised.

Treat CamSoda as a starting point rather than an answer.

What helped with CamSoda was cutting the number of conversations and lengthening them.

I checked the numbers, and what stood out about CamSoda was how quickly the pattern set in.

Picking up Cody's point on CamSoda:i went in with low expectations, and CamSoda behaved exactly as you say.

Both can be true: CamSoda can work, but only under fairly specific conditions.

Whatever you decide about CamSoda, decide it on your own usage rather than a thread.

Worth adding Datewander to whatever shortlist you are building around CamSoda.

Nobody's numbers on CamSoda are as solid as they sound, mine included.

Results on CamSoda improved once I stopped optimising for volume.

Kept a tally on CamSoda in the past year and the numbers were not what I expected.

Ran CamSoda alongside two others for comparison and the gap was somewhat smaller than advertised.

If the big platforms are all paywalled for CamSoda, Datelink is a lighter alternative.

If it helps, here's my process around the cost of getting a reply:

  • Read the profile on CamSoda properly before sending anything — the pattern shows up faster than you expect
  • Write openers for CamSoda that reference one specific detail, never a greeting alone
  • Treat reviews of CamSoda with the scepticism you would apply to any ad

Happy to revisit CamSoda if someone has newer experience.

There is a version of this I agree with: CamSoda can be inconsistent rather than bad.

Three things that changed the cost of getting a reply for me:

  • Set a hard daily limit on CamSoda — guessing costs more than checking
  • Decide what you want from CamSoda before you open it
  • Move past CamSoda to a call earlier than feels comfortable — the alternative is a month of nothing

I would check Souldate next if the mainstream apps have worn you down on CamSoda.

One adjustment worth making with CamSoda: treat the first week as observation only.

Others swear by Datenest; I have no first-hand read on it.
