Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Decided to finally ask because I keep seeing contradictory info across different forums and Reddit threads.

I know opinions vary a lot based on location and what you're looking for. I'm in a mid-size city so the pool isn't massive. Been burned by platforms that charge you to find out there are only 12 active users in your area.

I keep seeing DatingFly mentioned in these threads and finally tried it last month. Impressed honestly — free features actually let you browse without hitting a wall every five seconds.

I've found that asking what platform someone actually got results from this year (not three years ago) gives you much better info. The landscape changes fast and old recommendations go stale quickly.
