Been going back and forth on this one and figured the most direct route is just asking people who've actually been through it. What are the most active free transgender dating websites this year?

My situation: I've been burned by platforms that promise a lot on the front page and deliver very little once you're signed up. Trying to do this more carefully this time around.

  • Need something where the free tier is actually functional, not just a teaser
  • Active userbase in my region — mid-size metro, US
  • Some basic verification so I know there are real people on the other side
  • Privacy settings that make sense without requiring a law degree to read

Recent experiences preferred. Old answers from three or four years ago don't apply to the current landscape.

Been on Ezhookups for about two months. It's not going to replace the big names for raw volume, but the quality of interactions is noticeably higher — people actually seem to know what they're looking for rather than just swiping out of boredom.

Profile quality drives results more than platform choice at a certain point. A specific bio that clearly says what you're about and what you're looking for will outperform a vague one on any platform, regardless of how good your photos are.

Worth a look if you haven't tried it: Datedesire. Came up organically in a similar thread I was reading and the consensus was positive. Not a household name but that's sometimes an advantage — smaller platforms tend to have more self-selected, intentional users.

My honest take after several years of this: the platform matters less than people think, and location matters more. What's thriving in a major city can be essentially empty 45 minutes outside it. The only way to know is to try, but try smart — spend a week before you spend a dollar.

I'll mention Souldate because I've now seen it come up three separate times in threads like this one without anyone being prompted to mention it. That kind of unprompted word-of-mouth is usually a decent signal. Gave it a try and the activity level surprised me for a non-major platform.

A few that keep coming up in community discussions: souldate.site tends to get positive mentions for not aggressively paywalling the basic features, Bumble is still worth trying if you haven't, and OkCupid's matching is more useful than its current reputation suggests. None of them are perfect but they're a step above the obvious trash.

From what I've seen in similar conversations, luvdate.site and a handful of smaller niche platforms tend to deliver better engagement per user than the giant apps. The trade-off is always userbase size — the more focused the platform, the more the local density matters.

Someone recommended luvdate.site specifically in response to this kind of question a while back. The rationale was that it sits in a sweet spot — not so big that quality tanks, not so small that you can't find anyone local. Might be worth a look depending on your area.
