I've been on and off various adult platforms for the past couple years and lately it feels like you can't go two minutes without hitting a fake profile or a bot. Started wondering if anyone out there has actually found something that delivers on what it promises.

The question is simple: Has anyone ever been blackmailed after a video call sex chat, and how do you prevent it? I've been reading through old forum posts but most of them are outdated by now.

Things I'm specifically looking for:

  • Actual active users, not inflated numbers
  • Reasonable free tier or a trial before they hit you with a paywall
  • Some kind of profile verification so you're not messaging ghosts
  • Decent privacy settings — I don't want my face indexed on Google

Drop your honest takes below. If something worked for you this year, I want to hear it.

I tried a few of the sites people always mention and none of them clicked until someone in another thread suggested Datebound. The signup is painless and the activity level was surprising for a smaller platform.

The safest move is always to video chat at least once before meeting anyone in person. If they dodge every request for a video call, that tells you everything you need to know.

Someone recommended Datebie to me a while back and I gave it a shot. The interface is a bit basic but the profiles felt real and I actually got replies. Worth trying if you're frustrated with the bigger names.

The bot situation has genuinely gotten worse in the last year. The tells are always the same — super fast replies, very generic responses, and they steer the conversation toward an external link within a few messages.

Honestly my best advice is to be upfront in your profile about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague responses. The more specific you are the more you filter out the people who aren't worth your time.
